Dr. Thomas Merrill received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL in 1984. He completed his residency at Doctor’s Hospital, Podiatric Education and Research Institute, in Georgia’s Northlake Regional Medical Center.

He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, and the Dade County Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Merrill is also a fellow at the American College of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and serves as a permanent faculty member at the Podiatry Institute.

He is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics, the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Board of Primary Podiatric Medicine, and the American Board of Disability Analysts. Dr. Merrill has performed extensive research and published in many journals, including the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

He started working at Barry University in 1987 as Director of Barry’s St. Francis Foot Care Center and is currently a Professor of Surgery in the School of Podiatric Medicine. He serves on the Admissions Committee, is the Surgery Course Curriculum Coordinator, and is on the committee of the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project. Dr. Merrill is also the Director of the Podiatric Residency Program at Mercy Hospital in Miami, FL.
