At Barry University's Foot and Ankle Institute, we are proud to lead cutting-edge clinical research in wound healing and advanced care for chronic foot and leg ulcers. Our Clinical Research Division actively partners with national and international sponsors to provide our patients access to innovative treatments not yet widely available. For years, South Florida residents have benefited significantly from participation in clinical trials with Barry University Clinical Research, which has proudly served and supported the community for the past 15 years.
We are currently enrolling participants in several FDA-regulated clinical trials focused on improving healing outcomes for:
- Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs)
- Venous leg ulcers (VLUs)
- Pressure ulcers
- Post-surgical non-healing wounds
Why Participate in a Clinical Trial?
Clinical trials are essential in developing new treatments and improving patient outcomes. When you participate in a wound care study, you may:

Participation is voluntary and all study-related care is provided free of charge. Insurance is not required.
Who Can Qualify?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have a non-healing wound or ulcer
- Are willing to attend regular visits
- Meet additional study-specific criteria (assessed during screening)

We are currently enrolling participants at our Tamarac Clinic adjacent to the HCA Woodmont Location. This site is staffed by board-certified podiatrists and wound care specialists with expertise in research and patient-centered care.
